Shipper Receiver Team Lead

Description

This position will report to the Director of Operations the Shipper/Receiver’s principal duties are to ship, receive client’s orders and materials, maintain inventory control activities & records & perform other related work.
Our client is looking for an experienced Shipper / Receiver, not just someone with forklift experience and only wants to work to be on the forklift. We are looking for a candidate who can make appointments with transport companies, and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment. Candidate must be fluent in English (read/speak/write) and comfortable using a computer to make delivery slips, scan documents, print documents, and read paperwork to ensure it corresponds with what is being received or being shipped out. Able to assign tasks to the material handler(s). And also has experience operating a counter-balance forklift and walkies (certified).
Responsibilities:

Receives & unloads freight either manually or with equipment such as forklifts & pallet jacks.

Checks for damaged goods. Verifies quantity and quality of order.

Verifies items received with a corresponding purchase order.

Prepares orders for the various clients.

Ship orders to the client based on pre-established purchase orders.

Preparing & reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.

Provide information to customers and shipping companies.

Clean and maintain a safe work environment.

Record and maintain GMP records of activities

Work safely

Perform other work as assigned by the Director of Operations


Requirements:

Forklift certification (Counterbalance).

Minimum high school diploma, GED or 3 years’ related experience.

Experience in handling, receiving, storing and shipping materials, orders or supplies.

Relevant GMP knowledge or training.

Computer expertise especially with Microsoft Office.

Willingness to be trained on the operation of power and/or hand tools.

Good communicator.


Pay Rate: Depending on experience $17.50/hr - $19.00/hr
Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00am 3:30pm (Flexibility to work an afternoon shift would be an asset)
